Patio de Niños in Cabarete
Patio de Niños is a nonprofit educational institution in Cabarete, founded in 2017, offering a holistic and inclusive education for children ages 1 to 8. Combining Montessori principles with traditional education, our program encourages children to learn through exploration, creativity, independence, and respect for their individual development.
Our approach goes beyond academics, integrating bilingual education, nature-based learning, arts, science, emotional development, multiculturalism, and social awareness. We also encourage extracurricular activities and active family involvement, strengthening the connection between home and school.
More than a school, Patio de Niños is a community space for learning, inclusion, growth, and opportunity, helping children develop the knowledge, confidence, values, and life skills they need to thrive.
Understanding the Community
We begin by understanding the children, families, and community we serve. By listening to their experiences and recognizing the realities that shape childhood and learning in Cabarete, we are able to create an educational experience that responds to real needs.
Rooted in Community
Our program is designed around accessibility, inclusion, and community connection. We believe meaningful education should be within reach of every child, regardless of their family’s circumstances, and that strong relationships between school, families, and the wider community are essential to lasting development.
Creating Opportunities to Thrive
This approach allows us to provide a welcoming, stimulating, and thoughtfully designed learning environment where children can develop their abilities, build confidence, and discover their potential. Our goal is not simply to educate, but to create opportunities that can positively shape children’s futures and strengthen the community around them.
